Catching up

Mommy reminded me today it has been a long time since I posted anything to my blog, so I thought I would add something today just to say hi to everyone (especially my bestest friend Ellie) and let you know I've missed you all since the last time I was on.

So I think the last time I was here, I told you all about my first visit with Santa.  Well, as it turns out, he wasn't the REAL Santa after all.  The real Santa came to visit us on December 24, long after I went to bed.  He left us all kinds of stuff.  The pretty tree that mommy put in the living room (which I never messed with, by the way) was full underneath with lots and lots of presents.  Not only that, but there were stockings too, hung up in front of the fireplace that had stuff in them too.  That Santa guy is pretty cool, if you ask me. I mean, wow!  I had so much fun opening up my presents, but mostly I had fun because Taylor and Megan came over to visit and to spend some time.  I know that made mommy really happy too.

After we had presents, Taylor and Megan went to visit Taylor's parents and we went over to Aunt BB's house.  I got to play with Mandy and Daniel and Jacob.  I heard they had a cat, but I never saw him.  His name is Charlie, but Charlie wouldn't come out and play with me.  I did get to play a little with Bailey though, but I don't think he likes me much.  He growls at me like Toby and Mysti.  I don't know why, because I love them so much and I just want to play with them.  I hope when I get a little older they will want to play with me more.  They look like so much fun.  I would love for them to chase me and let me jump all over them, but all they do now is just growl and yell at me.  It's okay, because I usually talk back to them, which makes my mommy laugh and makes them just look at me funny.

After Christmas came New Years.  I don't know what that means, but we stayed up late and watched a lot of TV.  At midnight mommy and daddy kissed (ewwwww), and then mommy cried a little bit and then I kissed her all over her face.  I don't know why she was crying, but I think my kisses made her all better.  Maybe daddy's did too, but I think mine are way better than his.

During Christmas and New Years, me and mommy got to stay home a lot.  I love going to school with mommy, but it was so much fun just sleeping in and laying around in bed until we were ready to get up.  When we did get up, we had blueberry waffles for breakfast and then we kind of just layed around rested.  Mommy was still a little sick (she had been for a long time) so I spent a lot of time taking care of her.  When I knew she wasn't feeling well, I never left her side.  In fact, I spent a lot of time just sleeping really close to her so she would know I was there in case she needed me.  I love my mommy and daddy so much, I would do anything for them.

Mommy also had a lot of homework to do, so I helped her with that.  This is when I accidentally ate her homework, and this is when I fell asleep waiting for her to get done.

L:ast weekend Toby and Mysti came to visit.  Mommy was so happy.  Things did not go well at first, because they were really made at me, but by morning, things were much better.  This is the picture that daddy got of all of us in bed with mommy.  We didn't get to close to each other, but at least we were all in the same bed.

This weekend, mommy was sick again.  She was so sick she couldn't go to work on Friday, so I spent most of the day sleeping right next to her head, or under her chin. Wherever I thought it hurt, that's where I would lie.  It must have worked, because by noon today she was feeling much, much better.  She even got up and we went downstairs for a little while.  Mommy is having some work done in the house.

I got to meet a really nice man named Mike - his friends call him Dr. Paint.  He's been working on a couple walls for mommy and I've been pooping on the plastic he put all over the floor.  It looks a lot like my pee pee pads, so I got a little confused.  Anyway, he is really nice, and I like him a lot.  He talks to me and he plays with me, when I sneak downstairs when I know mommy is sleeping.  I don't stay long, because I don't want mommy to be alone and wake up and I'm not there.  But he is very nice and very funny.  I hope he comes back because I really do like him.

Tonight, daddy came home and we watched the Saints game on TV.  He was not happy because they lost and now they don't get to go to the Super Bowl (whatever that is).  It's probably my fault they lost because I didn't change out of my snowman pajama's into my Saints Cheer leading outfit.  Sorry daddy.  I hope you're not too mad at me.

Well, I guess that's all I have to say for now.  Tomorrow I am going to go to my very first all Yorkie play date.  I am very excited.  I've never been in a room with a whole bunch of Yorkie s before.  This should be a lot of fun.  Hopefully mommy will take lots of pictures so I can post them on my blog for you all to see.

My First Santa Visit

Today Mommy took me to Petsmart to see my doctor and to get my picture taken with Santa Claus.  She's been talking about it for days.  I've never met Santa Claus, but she's been showing me who he is.  We've watched lots of movies with him in it.  I know he's someone who wears a really pretty red outfit and he has a white beard and wears a red hat.  I was excited to see him because I really like to meet new people.

When we got to Petsmart, the first thing I did was run into my friend Ginny.  I remembered Ginny from my play date with Kasey.  I looked for Kasey, but she wasn't there but I think Ginny was going to tell Kasey I said hi.  I hope so, because I really miss playing with her.

After we talked to Ginny, Mommy noticed a sign that said Santa would not be there until 11:00.  It was still really early, so we didn't think we were going to get to meet him.  I went off to my doctors appointment and got to meet Nurse Sarah.  Nurse Sarah was really really nice and she thought I was really cute.  Mommy told her we didn't think we were going to get to see Santa and she showed her the dress I was going to wear.  Nurse Sarah was so excited she wanted to take my picture, so Mommy changed me into my dress and Nurse Sarah took me in the back and I got my picture taken with a lot of new people I had never met before.

When Nurse Sarah brought me back to Mommy, Mommy decided that if I couldn't have my picture taken with Santa then I should have it taken with Nurse Sarah.  Mommy said something about her being one of Santa's reindeer.  I don't know what that is, but Mommy and Nurse Sarah did so I was happy to let her take my picture.

After I had to have a shot, which I didn't like much.  I've decided I don't like shots.  They hurt and are really kind of yucky.  Now my shoulder hurts a lot.

We did a little, what Mommy calls, shopping after my shot.  We drove to another store and she bought some stuff there.  I don't know what because I was really only paying attention to the people there.  After that we went to another Petsmart and then I got to see him.  Santa was there and so were lots and lots of other dogs.  I was so excited, all I wanted to do was run and play, but Mommy didn't want to let me down to go run and play.

Finally it was my turn to take my picture.  Santa looked a little different than the ones I had seen in the movies, but he was still really nice.  I had fun taking my picture, but was very happy when Mommy said we were going home because I was tired.

It was another fun day and I was happy I got to spend it with Mommy, although I could really have lived without the shot.

My First Thanksgiving

Today was my very first Thanksgiving.  Like most things in my little life, I didn't know what that was, but I sorta figured it out on my own.  First, this is what I learned.  On the day before Thanksgiving, Mommy spends almost the whole day cleaning house and then working in the kitchen.  I discovered, it was my job, when she was in the kitchen, to stand as close to her as possible, in case she dropped something.  She sure made the kitchen smell really good, but I was really disappointed because the only thing she dropped was this green stuff that didn't taste too good - when she took it out of my mouth she told me was was parsley.  I learned that parsley is yucky!

When daddy got home, I also learned that he should not be in the kitchen because he kept trying to steal whatever it was that she was cooking and she kept slapping him and telling him to get out.  Glad I wasn't the only one being told that cause the both said it to me A LOT!

Right before bedtime, mommy took this big white thing and put it in a bag - I heard daddy call it a turkey. He did take a picture of it first, but I don't know why, but here is the picture.  She then put it into this big black box thing, pushed a few buttons and walked away.  Then we went to bed.

In the morning, the whole house smelled so good I couldn't stand it.  I just knew I was really hungry and I didn't know why.  I ate some of my puppy chow, but that just didn't taste like what I was smelling so I wasn't too interested in my puppy chow today.

Later, I met a brand new friend.  Her name is Annie (or as my Sissie calls her Annie Pannie Boomalanie).  That's a funny name, don't you think?  I really liked her. She brought me a treat, which I thought was really nice, even though I didn't get to say thank you - so thank you Annie Pannie.  It was two bones - one that said Naughty and one that said Nice - I think I will eat the Nice one because I don't think I'm ever Naughty.

Mommy, of course, dressed me in a party dress - it was red and black velvet with a beautiful black bow. She tried to put a bow in my hair, but I just kept shaking it out (ha ha).  Thankfully she gave up after a while because I really didn't want to wear the bow.  I was okay with the dress, because I thought it was really pretty.

The most exciting part of the day though, was when Megan and Taylor came over.  I was so happy to see them.  They didn't bring Toby or Mysti, so I was a little sad, but it was nice to be able to play with them on the floor and run all over their faces! At dinner I heard everyone go around the table and say what they were all thankful for and on top of everything else, Mommy said me.

I may not understand a lot of these new holidays, but Thanksgiving I think I do understand (although I'm still not sure about that whole turkey thing daddy took a picture of).  I think it's just a time when everyone gets together and says how happy they are and what they are thankful for, so this is what I am thankful for.  I am thankful I have a wonderful family who loves me and takes care of me and plays with me when I am bored.  I am thankful that when I have an accident and miss my wee wee pads, no one gets really angry with me (because I am really still trying to hit the right spot).  I am thankful that I have met so many new friends and that I have a warm safe place to be.  I think I like this holiday and hope it comes again soon - although I am not thankful for that very loud noisy thing that mommy and daddy use to push across the carpet.  That thing scares me and they could get rid of that tomorrow and I would be really happy.

Daddy did have one final picture I found today and thought I would share with you.  Remember that turkey thing I was telling you about before that daddy took a picture of.  Well here is what is left of it.  I don't know what it was, but it sure doesn't look the same as it did.  I hope it's okay, where ever it went.

Til next time, Happy Thanksgiving and I hope you all have wonderful families too that you can snuggle and cuddle with tonight because now I am tired and am going to crawl up on mommy's chest and go to sleep.  Night night - Maizie.

Get Better Mommy!

I'm so glad to have a Mommy who loves me and takes care of me, so when she got sick, I knew it was my turn to make her feel better too.  Ever since that Halloween thing, she has really been feeling bad.  She coughs a lot (I know what this is, cause I sometimes cough too).  When I cough, she picks me up and pats my back and makes sure I didn't swallow anything I wasn't supposed to.  Then she pets me and gives me something to drink and I feel much better.

I can't do that for her, because she's bigger than me, but I when she starts to cough, I like to climb up on her lap and sit on her until she quits.  I also like to get tissues for her.  If I can get a hold of the box, I will grab a tissue for her, and shred it up for her so it's easier for her to blow her nose in - at least I think it is, because those tissues can be pretty big.  I will admit, I do make her chase me down for it.  I'm pretty sure this makes her feel better because she gets lots of color in her cheeks when she's chasing me.  Plus, if I get her tissue, I always get a cookie to give it up, so she must really appreciate all of my help.

Today, she got this thing dropped off that made a lot of noise.  I don't know what it was, but she was very happy when it came in that she almost hugged the man who dropped it off.  I tried to help her set it up - I kept holding the mouth piece thing for her, but she didn't seem to need my help.  I didn't like the noise much, but she did feel better afterwards.  We even got to take a nap on the couch when she was done.  I think she felt better when she woke up because she hardly coughed at all.

I hope she feels better soon.  I hate to see my Mommy sick.  She doesn't want to play with me as much and I really need someone to play with.  Maybe Daddy will play with me now, because I'm really kind of bored.

WHO DAT?

Today was a very exciting day for me.  Today, I got to watch my very first Saint's game on the T.V.  Last week, Mommy was really happy because some new clothes she ordered for me came in, and one of the outfits was a cheerleader dress for the Saints.  As soon as she got it, she put me in it and, I'll have to admit, I was really cute.  I wore it most of the day, but the reason she left me in it was so I could show Daddy when he got home.  Mommy thought he would really like it - and he did.  After dinner, he took me upstairs and started taking my picture.  I am really getting good at having my picture taken (and I really kind of like it).  He thought I was so cute, he posted my pictures on Facebook.

Mommy also got me a shirt that matched Daddy's shirt, so today we both got to wear a shirt with the number 9 on it.  I noticed, when the game was on, there was a guy on the grass with the same shirt as me and Daddy.  He had a ball (like one of my toys) that he kept throwing to everyone.  I thought it was cool that he was wearing the same shirt as me and Daddy.  I think maybe we should start a club or something.  I wonder if anyone else has a shirt like ours.

Anyway, I think it was a good game.  I don't know because I got really tired and fell asleep as soon as it started.  I think I slept through most of it.  When I woke up, Daddy started yelling at the T.V.  I don't know why he was doing that, but he must have been having fun because he kept clapping.  He also kept saying "good boys" so they must have been doing good tricks, because he tells me "good girl" when I sit, or lie down, or go potty on my potty pad.  Maybe they were potting on their potty pads... I just don't know.

I stayed awake for the rest of the game, and watched a little and then they won.  I don't know if I understand what they were doing, they looked like they were just doing a lot of running around to me and that guy in our shirt just kept throwing the ball.  They don't play fetch very well though, because no one ever brought it back to him, but somehow he got it back and threw it again.  It was weird, but Daddy says we get to watch them again on Thursday, so I'll pay more attention.  Maybe I'll figure it out a little more (unless I get sleepy again).

Kasey and Me

This weekend, I was very busy.  First, on Saturday, Mommy took me to the vet.  Mommy was very happy because I have gained almost a full pound.  On Saturday I weighed 2.6 lbs. Mommy says I am getting to be a big girl.  I don't feel so big, but I do notice my sweaters are fitting a little better now.

This is me with Kasey and Miss Ginny
On Sunday, I made a whole bunch of new friends.  I had my very first, official, play date with a Kasey Ireland.  Kasey is a Cockapoo and lives with her mommy, Ginny, her daddy, Greg and her "brother", Josh and her new baby "sister" Emily. They have the biggestest yard I have EVER seen.  Oh my gosh.  Kasey and I got to run and run and run all over the place.  Her yard went on forever.  Kasey was really nice to me and lots of fun to play with.  She let me jump all over her and chase her.  Then she would chase me back and sometimes she would run into me and I would roll over and over.  It was so much fun.  Mommy and Miss Ginny thought we were really funny.
This is us again.
We were REALLY tired after our play date

I got to play with Josh too and he was a lot of fun also.  He let me chase him and when I did he would laugh really hard.  I can't remember the last time I had so much fun.  I hope I get to go back again soon, or I hope Kasey gets to come over to my house.  We don't have such a big yard to play in, so I don't know if she would like it as much, but I do have lots of toys for her to play with, so maybe that would make her happy.

Thanks Kasey, for the wonderful day.  I can't wait to do it again.

What's a Wood Berry?

Yesterday Mommy was really sick, so she didn't go to work.  Instead she stayed on this big cushy bed thing in the room with the big box with lots of people on it (I heard Daddy call it a TV).  I did my best to make her feel better by making her pick me up and put me on that big cushy thing (I think she called it a couch), and then make her put me back down again, and then pick me up and put me back down.  I did this a lot, so I know she must have been feeling lots better.  When I wasn't wanting her to put me down again, I thought I would make her feel better by jumping on her face and then chewing on her hands..  I don't know why, but sometimes she would put me down on the floor before I wanted her too, so I would just bark at her until she picked me up again.  I wanted to do whatever I could to make her all better.

When Daddy came home she decided to go to bed, but before she did, she scooped me up and tried this pretty yellow and blue dress on me.  Like most things it was way to big on me, but then she started putting things in it to make it fit better.  I thought it was pretty until she tried to put it on me, then it wasn't nearly so pretty anymore.  Thankfully it was only on me for a few minutes before she went off to bed.

This morning, she got me up and she was wearing the same dress she tried to put on me last night (only in her size).  I wasn't sure what was going on, but something told me I wasn't going to be too happy.  Boy was I right.  First, she put the dress on me from the night before, then she put a white jacket on over the top.  She kept saying it would keep me warm.  I didn't care, I just wanted to be out of all of it.  Then she grabbed a white coat for herself and I noticed we looked exactly the same.

When we got to work, everyone who saw us thought we were really cute.  Mommy kept saying I was her twin for twin day.  I didn't know what that meant, at all.  She did take me to class with her, which was fun, and everyone thought I looked really pretty, so I guess that was a good thing.  During class they were talking about something called wood berry and spirit week.  I didn't know what any of that meant, but I did hear Mommy say that's why we were dressed as twins.  I saw some other students dressed up together too, so I guess it was okay, but I'm still confused about what wood berry is and why it is so special.  I mean, I know what wood is because I got in trouble for eating a piece of it the other day.  I found it outside and it was really fun to chew on but it made a big mess in Mommy's office and so she took it away from me.  What I don't know is what a berry is and why you have to have a twin for a piece of wood or a berry?  I do know what a banana is, because I have that every morning.  Maybe a berry is like that.  If it is, then it would make sense why everyone is so excited.  Wood and banana's are great things, so maybe wood and berry's are too.  They must be if they have a whole week to celebrate them!  I just hope tomorrow I don't have to dress up again.

If someone out there knows what a wood berry is, maybe you can tell me.  If not, maybe I'll start my own week and call it wood banana.  I don't think I'll dress up though.  I like me just the way I am.
